1:1 Play Therapy

A form of psychotherapy using the natural realm of play for children aged 4 to 12 years. With a minimum of 12 sessions, a child centred, non-directive approach is used to enable a child to express themselves in a way and at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for them. Children attending Play Therapy may be experiencing behavioural difficulties, bereavement, trauma, low self-esteem, anxiety, and other mental health difficulties.

Therapeutic Group Work

With up to 4 children, I provide personally written programmes to help children overcome difficulties they are facing in their lives, including anxiety, low self-esteem and confidence, building and maintaining positive friendships, transitions to new school environments, and more. Group work enables children to learn through directive themes and activities, as well as through peer interaction. Referrals can be completed by schools and group work takes place in schools.

1:1 ©The Wonder of Me Programme

A 12-week therapeutic and creative programme designed by me to build confidence and self-esteem in children aged 7-12 years, using Play Therapy tools and techniques to support the development of self-awareness, an increased confidence in their strengths and abilities, and embracing self-acceptance. This unique course includes parents in the process with two parent sessions taking place at the beginning and end of the programme, plus a parent handbook filled with supportive information & guidance to keep, ensuring themes of the programme are continued at home.

Costs for all interventions can be provided once contact has been made via the Contact page. A list of interventions and pricing for each will be provided, with no obligation to proceed.

What parents, children & schools have to say about Little Oak Therapies…

I truly appreciate the care and attention you brought to the session. It was clear from the start that you created a warm, welcoming environment for my child. I was particularly grateful for your intervention, which helped her open up emotionally. Your ability to listen and observe without pressure really helped her feel understood, which was so important for her. I’m really grateful for your time, and sharing your observations and insights with me.

Thank you so much for the care, compassion, and support you have shown during her time with you. From the very beginning you have gone above and beyond to understand her unique needs and (in her own words) really understand her autism. Your work as her Play Therapist has made a meaningful difference in her emotional well-being and confidence. It has been truly wonderful to see her grow, express herself more freely, and feel safe and understood in your presence. Thank you for creating such a safe space where she could be herself and for guiding her so gently and skilfully through her journey.

I would highly recommend Tamara to any establishment, and we will be asking for Tamara’s services in the future.
— Lower School in Bedford Borough
My son has come out of his little shell massively. He can separate from me in the mornings and is often happier with the idea of school. Tamara has done wonders for him; he often comes home on a Friday after their session happy and smiley. She has helped him come out of his shell and has kept me in the loop along the way.
