'Understanding the impact of trauma on children' (workshop for professionals) - 14.10.2026
Wednesday 14th October 2026 at The Bright Hub, Renhold, Bedford
9.30am-12.30pm
A creative training workshop with a small group of like-minded professionals exploring the impact of early childhood trauma on a child’s brain development, and the direct correlation between this and the behaviours we observe day-to-day.
This workshop will delve into:
what complex trauma may look like for a child, and the effect of this on emotional regulation, cognitive function, and human connection.
the significance of attachments in early childhood, and the correlation between their personal experiences and how they develop relationships as they grow.
the importance of YOU in supporting their healing, and tools and techniques you can take away with you to use in your own practice in working with children and families.
This is a unique opportunity to attend a creative workshop that explores a complex topic within a safe and contained space of up to 6 attendees. I encourage discussions and conversations throughout that enable us to explore our working experiences in a confidential space that enables us to understand a child’s behaviour from a new perspective and with a deeper understanding. Together we use creative elements, such as clay, to consider topics explored in the workshop that support a richer learning experience for all.
Tea, coffee and drinks are provided, with a variety of snacks, too.
Here’s a snippet of some wonderful feedback received from previous attendees of this workshop:
“I now have a better understanding of the impact trauma can have, even at such a young age, how the brain works and how it affects all 8 senses which I was not aware that we had. I will be able to explain to the children I work with, link it to their responses and provide strategies confidently using the resources provided. The trainer was very knowledgeable, approachable, delivering and covering all content at a good pace and in a way that I was able to understand and retain; I felt confident to ask questions and contribute to discussions.”
“Thank you so much for the work shop, I really enjoyed it! It was very informative and the way you (Tamara) presented the workshop was excellent with plenty of opportunities for participation & group discussions. The bag of handouts and resources was a nice touch and appreciated! Thank you! I would definitely book on another of Tamara’s workshops in the future. She is amazing at what she does, best workshop I have been on! The workshop was delivered in such a calm manner and it was a relaxed atmosphere too. Keep up the great work!”

I can’t wait to meet you there!
